EENE Annual Meeting
Every year, we hold a hybrid in-person/online meeting where members present progress on active projects, and teams collaborate to develop new projects and advance early stage work. These annual meetings are held right after CTREE—the world’s largest economics education conference—in the same city to make attendance easy.
Our first annual meeting took place in Atlanta, GA on May 31 and June 1, 2024. After a presentation of preliminary results from the Academic Mindset Study, 40 in-person and 25 online attendees worked in small groups formed on the basis of their research interests. Together, they brainstormed and refined ideas for future studies designed to leverage EENE’s size and diversity to advance research in economic education and pedagogy. The Improving Team Dynamics project, scheduled to go into the field in Fall 2025, was conceived at this meeting.

EENE Annual Meeting 2025
At our June 2025 meeting in Denver, CO, we began with updates on the three papers in progress from the Academic Mindset Study and a presentation on the GenAI Study which had just completed Spring 2025 data collection. The rest of the meeting combined small-group work developing new research ideas with whole-group discussions to refine and advance them. As a result, two of these projects are actively moving toward development this fall.
We have already started planning our June 2026 meeting in Las Vegas—If you’re interested in helping, please get in touch!
